Hi to all members,

We are finally seeing some settled weather; fingers crossed that August gives more of this sunshine. July’s total rainfall was 372mm which gives us an annual total so far of 1000mm; 11mm short of our record month back in July 1998. With the bad weather we experienced last week we were unable to get on the greens for our monthly tining and instead we used our shallow tines this week. Because of all the closures in July we have decided it’s only fair that we wait till the end of the month to deep tine so we have no disruptions to nine closures and tee bookings for all you. Having said that, we have scheduled a light sand top-dressing next week which will be dictated by weather, but the course will be open as normal.

Carts

We are very close to having carts on the back nine. Its looking like we could be good for Saturday but that call won’t be made till the morning of. Extra geo-fencing will be in place, so please take note of the screen and pick your route carefully. Sunday is forecasted for more rain and the chances of it going back to nine holes only, is possible. Please take extra care while out on the carts on both nines.

Wash-down bay

Can we please make more of an effort to wash down trundlers and shoes inside the bay!! The driveway is not the place to be washing down and it’s starting to create a lot of mess; thank you.

Driveway

You will notice that new lines have been painted in the carpark for easier parking, also the speed humps and new speed limit signs have been painted on the driveway in and out. Can we please watch the speed down the driveway as there have been some close calls of late. It’s also been noticed that some members have been driving out through the exit when leaving the club. It is clearly marked and signage says exit through the top carpark!!

I hope this weather hangs around as long as possible for a full weekend of golf for you all.

Regards
