Golf at Alert Level 3

The guidelines in terms by which golf can be played at Alert Level 3 are listed below.

1. Play is only possible for those playing alone or playing with others from within their bubble.

2. We suggest you re engage with your previous bubble and determine if that is still appropriate.

3. All clubhouse facilities will be closed (this includes balconies or any clubhouse outdoor areas where golfers can gather).

Throughout the last period of Alert Level 3, the NZ golf office received a number of complaints from golfers, members of the public, the media and the police around activities at some clubs.

Most complaints related to the gathering of bubbles on the golf course or in clubhouse, please remember that the RPGC car park is part of the RPGC grounds and cannot be used to mingle before or after your game of golf.

We all need to continue doing our bit in the fight against COVID-19.

Just to confirm

  • tee bookings online will be for 1 person only, if you are wanting a second person from your bubble please contact the office and they will add them
  • if you have a family bubble with more than 2 in the bubble can you please play later in the day so as to avoid slow play complaints
  • 6 minute tee times
  • physical cards will NOT be available ONLY electronic cards can be completed.
  • No water or ablutions on the course to be used
  • flags have been removed - we will have these back next week given the new ball lifters.

the grounds team are taking advantage of the weather window to do a mini spike of the greens. This will happen on Monday and Tuesday next week.

This means that on Monday the back 9 will be closed and the play will be 9 holes from 1-8 and 18. On Tuesday it will be 9-17 open while the front 9 is completed.

Under level 3 there will be no Scrambles or other competitions

Please note that Top Dog and Top Cat will be deferred for 2 weeks. Those involved in play will be contacted to advise options for the tournament completion.

many thanks
