Weekly Update

Hi to all members,

I hope the summer is treating everyone's golf game just fine. It’s been a very busy few months here for all involved, from hosting the Masters Tourney, Club Champs, Pennants and the day to day golf. It’s been great to see the buzz around the club.

With all that we have noticed the amount of rounds going through the gate and the toll it’s taking on our little course, again I would like to remind you on all the housekeeping rules here at the club;

  •       Rake and smooth out all foot prints when leaving the bunker
  •       Use sand provided to fill all divots on tees and fairways (especially par 3’s)
  •       Repair your pitch mark and another 3 on each green while waiting for your putt
  •       Please give way to Greenkeepers
  •       Be courteous to other members and visitors

All of the above goes a long way to cutting down massive man hours of work that could be carried out on other and bigger jobs, Thanks.

Start times

From Monday the 1st of March you will all notice that the tee booking sheet was pushed out to 7am through the weekdays, this is due to the light and the safety of the greens crew. We have had to push our start time out to 6:30am so it will also give us time to get out of all the golfers' way.

Ninja Tinning

We will also be carrying out a small ninja tine throughout our greens on Monday with a possible sand top-dressing on the Tuesday. This is all low disruption work and only small holes throughout the green will be visual after we cut and roll behind. This practice is vital for our greens surface to be maintained and to keep on top of our thatch levels.

This weekend’s golf

We have another busy weekend of golf here at the club, down to the business end of the match play club champs with the semi’s on tomorrow and we are also hosting the Kaipara Pennants here on Sunday morning. After 3 rounds they are sitting joint 3rd so head along to support the boys play Waitakere on our own track. Good luck to all who are involved and everyone else have a great weekend of golf and we will see you out there.
