Redwood Club & Course re-opening Friday 19 Feb 21

Dear Members,

Firstly, we do apologise for the previous message sent with a number of conflicting points. Can you please ignore the previous message; the update for the course re-opening is as follows:

With the Government moving Auckland to Level 2, the Board have decided that the course will open on Friday, 19 February 2021 from 7.00 am, which allows time for the Club to make the necessary changes to accommodate the Government and NZ Golf recommended guidelines to open the course during this level.

The course will be open on the same conditions that applied during the previous Level 2 Lockdown, which as a reminder, some of the key points are given below, together with a link to the NZ Golf website:

  • Physical distancing (2 metres) between staff, players and visitors should be maintained. Distancing should be maintained both on the Course and in the Clubhouse.
  • Members with affiliated guests, may play in a four-ball bubble.
  • No score cards will be issued and no scores will count for handicaps.
  • The Clubhouse will re-open and players will be served, seated and 1 meter apart. Players will not  be served over the counter.
  • Club carts will be unavailable.
  • There will be no tee markers; bunkers will be closed (deemed G.U.R.)  and no rakes; water fountains/taps will be closed.
  • The old pins will be put back on the greens with the ball lifting attachments.
  • Players must book a tee time and when arriving, report to the starter so we can meet our COVID obligations.

Golf New Zealand updated their guidance on Monday for Alert Level 2 which can be viewed at the following link https://www.golf.co.nz/news-detail?newsarticleid=21968&tags=
