Letter to all members
Period of lock-down

Dear Members,

We understand this is an unusual situation we all find ourselves in and hope you are managing through this extraordinary time as best you can.

As per the government directive, due to the COVID-19 Level 4 lockdown, all Golf Clubs and Courses across New Zealand have been closed. This means people cannot use the course to play golf or practice golf under any circumstances and to that end our entrance on Knox Rd has been barricaded. We ask that you do not breach this requirement.
As to the maintenance of the Course, we are following the recommendations of NZ Golf who are working with government officials to seek a work able compromise.
Whilst the period of no maintenance (no greens or course areas being mowed) is concerning, New Zealand Golf are working with the government to enable a solo worker allowance so that we can attempt to have the course prepared as best as possible prior to reopening.  In the interim all our staff have been stood down from their duties, meaning no course maintenance is taking place.

The Clubs employees and their well-being is a priority, all employees have been spoken to and the Board has given them interim assurances concerning their wages and job security.

No doubt this period of lockdown will have a financial impact on the Club, however we are also very aware that many of our members will also be managing on a lesser weekly wage or salary. We have decided to suspend the direct debit subscription payments for April 2020 and extend the fully paid up memberships by 4 weeks. This is being done in the hope that the lock down is only for the 4 weeks. We will reassess the situation of subscription fees after this period.

We ask that everyone please remains patient and considerate to each other during this time.

We will keep you updated with any changes, when applicable.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
